Most sites know their total bill and very little else. Board schedules are out of date, sub-meters were fitted during a refit and never set up, and nobody is quite sure which tenant, department or production line is using what. That makes it hard to recharge fairly, report with confidence, or know where to start on waste.
You can stop after the first two, or carry on to the third where you need real numbers.
Our electricians walk the site with you. We review whatever drawings, certificates and board schedules you have, then trace supplies from the incoming meter through each distribution board to the areas and equipment they serve. We work around your tenants and operations and agree access in advance.
We look at every meter already on site, including main meters, sub-meters and anything connected to a BMS, and check whether it is wired, set up and recording correctly. It is surprisingly common to find meters with the wrong settings, or that were installed and never commissioned. Where we can, we bring them back into use rather than replacing them.
We fit permanent monitoring to the circuits that matter, bring your existing meters online alongside any new ones, and connect everything to the Enerlytic platform. From then on you can see real consumption by area, tenant or machine, your base load, and what is still running when the building should be empty. Not as a one-off snapshot, but every day.
Most surveys end with a report that’s out of date the next time a board is changed or a tenant moves. Ours doesn’t have to.
The metering plan we write is designed to connect straight into the Enerlytic platform, so the map becomes live data. You get consumption for every area down to individual equipment, tenant and departmental reports, alerts when something is running that shouldn’t be, and figures you can use for ESOS, SECR and carbon reporting.
We use the meters you already have wherever we can, so you’re building on what’s there rather than starting again.
Give tenants their own energy and carbon figures, and recharge on what they actually use.
See what each line, compressor or oven costs to run, and find the load that keeps going between shifts.
Compare blocks and buildings on the same basis, and recharge catering, lettings or community use fairly.
Split costs between occupiers in a shared building with figures everyone can trust.
Apportion shared electricity supplies with a method you can explain to residents.
Know your real load profile and spare capacity before investing in solar, batteries, EV charging or a refit.
Sub-meters were already fitted on every tenant board, wired back to the BMS, but none of them had ever been set up, so nothing was being recorded. Tenants were asking for their own carbon figures and the landlord could only offer a whole-building number. Bringing the existing meters into use was far cheaper than starting again.
Costs for shared supplies were being split by an old formula nobody could explain. A fixed-scope apportionment study measured actual use and gave the managing agent a method they could stand behind.
We quote each survey individually, because the work depends on your building: how many supplies and boards there are, what drawings already exist, and where you’re based. Tell us a little about your site and we’ll come back with a quote and a suggested approach.
